Rasuwa. As many as 45 students of three government and one private school in Rasuwa district are still out of contact due to the devastating floods of September 26.
According to Durga Prasad Silwal, chief of the Education and Coordination Unit, Dhunche, four school buildings in the district have been completely destroyed by the floods. The schools that were completely damaged by the floods are Nepal National Primary School Timure, Malikadevi Primary School, Parebesi, Chipleti Primary School and Modern Trinity English Boarding School.
Of the missing students, 25 are from Nepal National Basic School, 25 from Timure, 11 from Malikadevi Basic School, eight from Modern Trinity and one from Chipleti Elementary School, Silwal said.
Alternative arrangements have been made to continue the studies of other students affected by the floods. The students of Chipleti have been sent to schools in Dandagaon and Thulogaun. The students of Malikadevi Primary School have been sent to the newly elected Secondary School Bhalaydanda and the students of Trinity have been provided accommodation in Nilkantha Secondary School.
Schools in Gosainkunda, Amachhodingmo, Uttargaya and Kalika were completely closed due to the floods. In Naukunda Rural Municipality, classes had started from August 11.
