Bhotekoshi floods: Bailey bridge over Falakhu river linking Nuwakot and Rasuwa begins

Nuwakot. The installation of a bailey bridge over the Falakhu River at Vetravati, which connects Nuwakot and Rasuwa, has been started after the flood in the Trishuli River via Bhotekoshi was damaged.

The process of bringing the necessary materials for this purpose is underway and the bridge installation work has been started from Wednesday and the target is to bring it into operation before Dashain.

According to Nepal Army Colonel Chiranjivi Chaulagain, the construction of the bridge is being brought from Baireni and Bara of Dhading where the Nepal Army has stockpiled it. All the materials will reach Vetrawati by today. A team of 55 people of the Nepal Army will start installing the bailey bridge from Wednesday.TAG_OPEN_div_21

Although it usually takes three days to install the bridge, the height of the old ‘jeep’ (bridge structure) has been increased by two meters. Earlier, the ‘jeep’ of the bridge at Vetravati was buried by the floods of the Bhotekoshi. To install a new acroboration bridge at the same place, the height of the old structure has been increased by two meters each. The crowbridge will be 74 meters long and 5.5 meters wide. The load bearing capacity of the bridge will be 60 tons.

With the access to the road, it has become easier to transport the necessary materials for the construction of the bridge and to proceed with the construction work. The construction work has gained momentum after the Galchhi-Rasuwagadhi Road Project Office opened the road access. Before the road access was reached, the Nepal Army had reached the place through an alternative route and completed the necessary field study (recki) and increasing the height of the jeep for the construction of the bridge.

{{TAG_OPEN_div_13} The Agitar-Vetrawati road section, which was damaged by the Bhotekoshi floods, has come into operation from this Saturday. It is expected that if the bridge construction is completed and brought into operation before the Dashain festival, the movement of people from Nuwakot to Dhunche of Rasuwa will be easier. It will also restore the Nuwakot-Rasuwa road link, which was blocked due to floods. The daily life of Rasuwa has been affected due to the floods due to the ineffective road network with Rasuwa.
