KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) is going to organize the Fourth International Conference on Economics and Finance in Kathmandu on April 2 and 3, 2027. The conference is being organized with the objective of holding in-depth discussions among policymakers, practitioners and researchers of the financial sector from around the world on contemporary and burning issues in the field of economics and finance.

The main theme of the conference is ‘Economic Growth and Macro-Financial Stability: Risks and Challenges’. The conference will focus on economic growth and development, international trade, finance and investment, macro-financial interlinkage, financial stability and monetary policy, and financial innovation and resilience.

Likewise, special priority will be given to research papers on central bank digital currency (CBDC), artificial intelligence (AI), fintech, and green finance which are directly related to the NRB’s jurisdiction.

Researchers interested in presenting working papers at the conference must send the full working paper by email by January 31, 2027. According to the NRB, only the summary of the working paper will not be accepted. The paper to be submitted must be original and has not been previously published elsewhere. The received workpaper will be peer-reviewed by an expert group and the best working paper will be selected. The approved working paper will be communicated on February 20, 2027, according to the NRB.

There will be no registration fee to participate in the conference as a paper presenter or participant. Interested persons will have to register by filling out the online form by March 3, 2027. All the papers approved at the conference will be published as ‘Conference Proceedings’ on the website of the Rastra Bank, according to the central bank.
