Kathmandu. American technology company Google has announced that it will give 200 researchers in Europe access to its most advanced artificial intelligence (AI) models and scientific tools. The initiative is expected to enhance scientific research, innovation and technological competitiveness in Europe.

In a statement issued on the sidelines of the Artificial Intelligence Summit in Dublin on Wednesday, Google said that the goal is to accelerate scientific research by providing research teams with the necessary computing capabilities and cutting-edge tools directly.

Researchers selected under the European Commission’s ‘Resource for AI Science in Europe’ scheme will have access to various advanced scientific technologies from Google DeepMind and Google Cloud. These technologies include AlphaFold-3, WeatherNext, AlphaGenome, AlphaValve, and AlphaEarth Foundations.

Of these, AlphaFold-3 is useful for research on the structure and interaction of proteins and biological molecules. It can help scientists understand biological processes and advance research related to drug development. Similarly, WeatherNext is a technology developed for weather forecasting.

Other tools will help in the study of genes and biological systems, the process of finding solutions to scientific problems, and research on various topics related to the earth. With the use of these technologies, researchers are expected to analyze a large amount of available scientific data and make the study of complex problems more effective.

According to Google, providing research teams with the necessary computing resources and advanced tools is part of an effort to strengthen Europe’s scientific capacity and strengthen the continent’s competitive position in global research.
