. US President Donald Trump has said that he is ready to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping in China next month. He indicated that the war in Ukraine along with nuclear disarmament could be discussed in a possible meeting.

Trump criticized Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and said it was time for someone else to talk on behalf of Ukraine. This has further highlighted the differences between Washington and Kyiv.

TAG_OPEN_div_13 Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the possibility of a trilateral meeting was discussed on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in China, but no concrete agreement had been reached. The three countries are scheduled to attend the summit in Shenzhen on November 18 and 19. China’s foreign ministry said it was not aware of a possible meeting.

Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiha warned that a meeting without Kyiv’s participation would encourage Putin to continue the war. Peskov also said that the participation of Ukrainian representatives is necessary for the final peace agreement.TAG_OPEN_div_11
