Myagdi. Power supply has been restored in all parts of Myagdi district, which was affected by floods and landslides last month.
Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA)’s Beni and Tatopani distribution centers have repaired the power supply after repairing the landslide-damaged transmission lines, branch lines and other infrastructures.
Satya Narayan Gami, chief of the NEA’s Beni distribution center, said that the lights were lit on Saturday in Paudwar, Annapurna Rural Municipality-5, the worst-affected area. “In many places, electricity was supplied in two to three days. In Paudwar, Giwang and Kindu areas, employees and workers were mobilized till night during the Dashain festival,” he said, adding, “In some places, we have supplied electricity through alternative means and structures. In the second phase, we are trying to make the power supply regular and systematic by carrying out additional repairs.” ”
There are 24,490 customers including Mallaj and Baribenika of Jaljala Rural Municipality of Parbat through the Milan Chowk substation under the Myagdi Distribution Center. Under the Tatopani distribution center, electricity is supplied to Mustang including wards 1, 2, 3 and 4 of Annapurna Rural Municipality.
The floods and landslides damaged the NEA’s 33-11 KV transmission, 250 poles of the distribution line and wires pulled there. A total of Rs 15 million has been damaged, said Gami, chief of the NEA’s Beni distribution center. Ramche of Annapurna Rural Municipality and Histan have been supplied electricity from Jaljala Rural Municipality-5 of Parbat. Earlier, electricity was supplied to this area from Mahavir.
Gami, the chief of Beni Distribution Center, said that electricity was supplied from Ghar village after the transformer transported by helicopter to Paudwar did not work. Life in the rural areas has become easier after the power supply has started.
