KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Balendra Shah has assured that the services related to land administration will be delivered from all the local levels within a month.

Through social media today, he said that the land administration services that are currently being operated from 33 local levels will be extended to all the local levels

The government in its 100 agendas related to governance reform had mentioned that the services related to land administration would be provided from the local level.

He said, “The main essence of the federal democratic republic is to reduce the distance between the state and the citizens. Its ultimate goal is not to easily reach the remote offices to get the services of the state, but to reach the necessary offices and their services to the citizens.” ”

The process for handing over the services of land administration to the local level has been forwarded as per the Constitution of Nepal, Local Government Operation Act-2074 BS and the Ordinance to Amend some Nepal Acts related to Land, 2083.

Prime Minister Shah said that the government has decided to expedite the process and make arrangements for the operation of land administration services from all the remaining local levels within the next one month. He said that the Government of Nepal is committed to provide all necessary support to the local levels in this work.

“With this initiative of the Government of Nepal, the local levels will be able to fully exercise their constitutional and legal rights related to land administration,” he said, adding that the Land Administration and Survey Office, which provides land-related services to the citizens, would become closer, simpler and easier for the citizens. ”
