Kathmandu. Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle has said that our country is now surviving on the very concessional loans given by the World Bank, ADB, to the most powerful countries.

He said this at a press conference organized to give information about the Nepal Infrastructure Summit 2026. He claimed that we Nepalis are living under the burden of the same concessional loan and that too has been disputed.

“It would have been possible to build big infrastructure with a tenure of 35, 40 years, paying interest of 1, 1.5 percent dollars,” he said, “But sadly, that path will be difficult.” He said that alternative financing options should be found. ”

He said that instead of saying that the government will do this in the investment conference to be held soon, it is being shown that it has done this work during the summit.

He informed that the government is making laws rapidly. He said that the Prime Minister is also very interested in the conference. Wagle said that this government is going to make many reforms including economic reforms, legal reforms.

He said that 65 laws were made in the last three and a half years and this government is currently in the process of formulating 59 laws. He said that the private sector should be brought in the field of infrastructure construction.
