Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Chairman of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), Chandra Prasad Dhakal, has called on the Secretary of the Ministry of Finance of the United Arab Emirates, Abdullah Ahmed Al Saleh.
During the meeting, they discussed the matters of further strengthening bilateral economic relations between Nepal and UAE and expanding trade and investment cooperation.
In the meeting held in the presence of Nepal’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Tej Bahadur Chhetri, both sides expressed their commitment to further strengthen Nepal-UAE economic cooperation and take forward mutually beneficial partnerships.
On the occasion, FNCCI President Dhakal shed light on the investment possibilities in Nepal and stressed on further strengthening collaboration among the private sector sectors.
He also stressed on the possibility of expanding trade and investment cooperation in the priority sectors such as hydropower, tourism, agro processing, big infrastructure and information technology (IT) in Nepal. He also said that the direct flight of Emirates Airlines to Kathmandu would be very important for tourism, trade and overall business movement.
The UAE Secretary of Finance, H.E. Abdullah Ahmed Al Saleh, expressed interest in the projects and opportunities presented by Nepal and expressed interest from the UAE side and was positive to enhance collaboration between the private sectors. The two sides also shared their common commitment to deepen cooperation in the days ahead and move towards concrete results.
Recalling his visit to Nepal in 2018, President Dhakal said that he was fascinated by Nepal’s hospitality and Nepali cuisine.
