Declaration should be brought to manage liquidity of banks: Prof Dr Acharya

Kathmandu. Economist Prof Dr Sanjay Acharya has said that political parties should bring their manifestos based on reality and in a scientific way.

Speaking at the party’s manifesto program organized by Nafiz on the economic agenda, economist Acharya said that the political parties should bring the manifesto keeping 5 areas as the main basis. He suggested making structural changes in the party’s manifesto and managing public expenditure.

“We should bring it in the manifesto to manage the liquidity of the banks,” Acharya said, “We should focus on the lack of access to international trade.” Acharya said that the political parties should focus on this and bring it in the manifesto, saying that the government has failed in labor management. He said that the agenda of the party should be how to get it out of the grey list.

In the manifesto, he said that the parties should talk about economic growth in a scientific way based on reality rather than on the basis of reality. “How can a budget of Rs 30 trillion lead to double-digit economic growth in the current situation? “There is no Public Procurement Act that can make the capital expenditure effective,” he said. This act should be new to increase spending.

Acharya argued that this trend should be amended through the Act as the legal provision of awarding unrealistic ‘low bid’ for awarding the contract is not effective. “The legal provision that allows private companies to bear the rest of the cost should be removed if it is easy to get a contract but release it,” he said. The leaders going to the parliament should play a legislative role in it,” he said.

Pvt. Dr Acharya said that the issue of climate change should be raised effectively in the election manifestos of the political parties. “We are a country suffering right now. There is a situation of poisoning that has not been eaten. There is a need to do homework on how climate justice can be leveraged in the party’s manifestos,” he suggested.

He urged the political parties not to make the policies and programmes vulgar in their manifestos. Giving the example of the 2015 manifesto of the Nepali Congress, he said that it should not be short and precise.
