Kathmandu. Resunga airport will operate flights only thrice a week from now on. Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has changed the flight schedule to Resunga Airport of Gulmi on Thursday.
Before this, Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) operates flights four times a week (Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday). Station Chief of Resunga Airport, Gulmi, Suman Thapa, said that the flight schedule would be available only three times a week on Sunday, Tuesday and Saturday.
According to him, Nepal Airlines Corporation currently has only three Twin Otter aircraft and the aircraft has to be repaired periodically. Resunga Airport has been operating flights regularly for the last three months except during the rainy season, bad weather and thick fog.
Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has been operating flights from Kathmandu at 6:30 am and from Resunga airport at 7:30 am in twin otter aircraft. The corporation has fixed the fare from Kathmandu to Gulmi at Rs 7,500 and Rs 7,300 from Gulmi to Kathmandu. Resunga Airport operates flights only in the morning due to high wind pressure during the day time.
The number of domestic and foreign tourists is increasing in the district with the commencement of air services in the district. It has become easier for the people of this area to travel to the capital from Gulmi within 45 minutes by air route.
The number of people taking air service has been increasing in the district of late. However, despite the increase in the number of passengers, the number of flights is less and the flight schedule keeps changing. Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) had started commercial air service in the district on May 12, 2080.
