Kathmandu. As Trump’s deadline for Iran approaches, Iran has called for a human chain around the power plant.
It has urged its youths to ensure their active participation in security. The move comes just hours after US President Donald Trump threatened to bomb all of Iran’s power plants and major bridges.
At least 15 people were killed in Tuesday’s attack. Iran has fired missiles at Israel and Saudi Arabia, and major bridges have been temporarily closed. According to Iranian state television, Alireza Rahimi called on young people and teenagers to form a human chain to protect national wealth.
According to Trump, if Iran does not allow the resumption of transportation from the Strait of Hormuz by 8 p.m. (Eastern Time), all power plants and bridges are at risk of being completely destroyed. He repeatedly extended the deadline, but indicated that it was a final warning.
Iran’s Revolutionary Guard and other officials have called on civilians to form a human chain around the power plant to ensure safety. In the past, Iran has taken similar measures around nuclear sites during times of tension with the West.
Attacks on the Gulf’s energy infrastructure and control of the strait have led to a sharp rise in oil prices. Brent crude has reached above $ 111 per barrel. This has increased by more than 50 percent since the war began.
The international community has warned against attacks on civilian infrastructure. French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot said it would be a violation of the laws of war and international law, while New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon said bombing bridges and reservoirs was unacceptable.
Since the war began, more than 1,900 service members have died in Iran, more than 1,400 in Lebanon, 23 in Israel and 13 in the United States. Efforts are also underway to release Japanese citizens detained in Iran on bail.
Efforts are underway to find a solution through dialogue, but Iran has rejected the US offer.
