Customs duty waiver to be given for reconstruction of damaged structures in Jenji agitation

Kathmandu. The government has decided to waive customs duty on the import of goods for the reconstruction of structures damaged during the Genji agitation. The government introduced this provision in the joint meeting of the Federal Parliament through the budget for the coming fiscal year today.
As per the provisions made in the Finance Bill, 2083, special provisions have been made regarding the rehabilitation of buildings, furniture, machinery and equipment caused by arson or vandalism during the agitation.TAG_OPEN_div_15
“Out of the damage caused to the building, furniture, machinery and equipment due to arson or vandalism in the affected industry, trade or business establishment during the Genji agitation, there will be 50 percent waiver on customs duty and excise duty for the rehabilitation and operation of such goods on the basis of the details of the goods as confirmed from the report of the insurance surveyor,” the bill states ।
} The bill states that if a star hotel that has already used the customs duty exemption facility once has suffered damage during the Genji agitation, then the double facility will not be available on the basis of the details of the goods confirmed from the report of the insurance surveyor.
} Also, the bill provides for royalty and renewal fees for the period when the casino business was damaged during the Genji movement.
