Kathmandu. Ganesh Karki, president of the Independent Power Producers’ Association of Nepal (IPPAN), urged the government to bring the ‘Sunset Law’ ordinance as soon as possible.
Addressing the 24th annual general meeting of IPPAN, he urged the government to bring the ordinance through the ordinance saying it would take one and a half and two years to bring it from the parliament regularly.
He urged the government to complete the PPA within 180 days. He complained that the energy entrepreneurs have been raising the issue of RCOD and hydro penalty for a long time and the state is not listening.
On the occasion, Chairman Karki urged the Board to pay attention to the stalling of many works in the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) as it has asked the Talukdar Ministry to coordinate some works.
He urged the companies that have applied for the IPO to make arrangements to issue shares easily.
Chairman Karki also demanded that the monetary policy to be brought by the NRB should also be energy promoter-friendly.
