Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Some petrol stations in the major cities of the country including the Kathmandu Valley have halted the sale of petroleum products. However, Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has claimed that there was a problem for some time due to low stock at the pump.
According to NOC Spokesperson Manoj Thakur, the stock of fuel at the pump is low due to which the queues of consumers have been seen in some places. He said that fuel has been loaded and sent from Thankot depot as per the demand and most of the fuel has already reached the pump and is in the process of reaching the rest.
“There are some queues at the pump due to low stock of oil. Oil has been supplied from Thankot depot as per demand. The problem seen in the sale and distribution of petroleum products has been resolved and there is no problem now,” Thakur said.
Most of the petrol stations in the Kathmandu Valley were closed due to the fall in the price of petroleum products. Long queues were seen at some of the government pumps to fill fuel.
According to NOC, petrol stations in the Kathmandu Valley have lifted 13 lakh liters of diesel and 13 lakh liters of petrol from the depot at Thankot on Friday. More than 130 petrol pumps are operating in the Valley.
