Kathmandu. Nepal’s trade deficit reached Rs 1,781 billion in the last fiscal year 2082/83. It was 16.63 percent more than the same period of the previous year.
During the period, foreign trade amounted to Rs 2,411.66 billion. Foreign trade has increased by 15.88 percent in the last fiscal year as compared to the previous fiscal year.
According to the Department of Customs, Nepal exported goods worth Rs 315.29 billion in the last fiscal year. This was 13.81 percent more than the last year.
Similarly, Nepal imported goods worth Rs 2096.37 billion in the last fiscal year. Compared to the last fiscal year, the import increased by 16.20 percent.
The import-export ratio stands at 6.65 percent. The share of imports is 86.93 percent and the share of exports is 13.07 percent.
