Government’s revenue up 10 percent in July

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: There has been a significant increase in the government revenue collection in the first month of the current fiscal year 2083/84.

According to the Office of Financial Comptroller General, the government earned Rs 93.43 billion in the first six months of the current fiscal year. This is an increase of about 10 percent or 8.24 billion compared to the total receipts of the first month of the last fiscal year.

According to the Office of Financial Comptroller General, the total tax revenue is Rs 85.19 billion and the non-tax revenue is Rs 7.03 billion. Similarly, the government has received foreign aid of Rs 240.3 million in the first month. The government has set a target to generate a total income of Rs 1,642.06 billion for the current fiscal year.

According to the Office of Financial Comptroller General, the budget expenditure for the first month of the current fiscal year stood at Rs 41.88 billion. The government had allocated a total budget of Rs 2.124 trillion for the current fiscal year. The budget expenditure for the month of July is 1.97 percent of the annual allocation.

Out of the allocated Rs 1,270.58 billion in the current heading this year, 1.68 per cent or Rs 21.40 billion has been spent till mid-August. Likewise, 0.31 per cent of the allocated Rs 431.10 billion has been spent on capital head. A total of Rs 19.15 billion has been spent till mid-July for financial management. This is equivalent to 4.53 percent of the annual allocation under this heading.
