Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Eight companies listed in the hotel and tourism group have published unrevised financial statements in the fourth quarter of the fiscal year 2082/83. According to the report, the profit of two companies has improved while the profit of one company has decreased compared to the previous year. The remaining five companies are incurring losses.
According to the company, the recent political instability in the tourism and hospitality business, agitations, international developments and fluctuations in the arrival of tourists have directly affected the financial condition of the companies.
The US-Iran tension and the Zenji agitation in Nepal are the main reasons mentioned in the company’s financial statements. Uncertainty in domestic and international tourist arrivals, political performance and instability, natural disasters, fluctuations in foreign exchange rate, increase in fuel and energy costs, and lack of tourism infrastructure are the major risks to the tourism business.
Bandipur Cable Car and Tourism Limited has pointed out the fluctuating and fluctuating in the arrival of domestic and international tourists as the major challenge in Bandipur. Stating that tourist arrivals may be affected due to macroeconomic situation, seasonal impact and external events, the company has laid emphasis on service quality and maximum utilization of resources by effectively managing the operational risk. Soaltee Hotel said there was no immediate internal problem. The hotel’s profit has increased in the last fiscal year.
Similarly, the profit of Kalinchowk Darshan Company has also increased compared to the last fiscal year. The profit of the company increased by Rs 79.94 lakh compared to the previous financial year. The company had posted a net profit of Rs 5.76 crore in the last FY. The hotel had posted a net profit of Rs 4.96 crore in the previous fiscal year.
During this period, the profit of Chandragiri Hills has decreased compared to the previous fiscal year. The company had posted a net profit of Rs 8.24 crore in the previous fiscal year as against Rs 18.74 crore in the previous fiscal year. The company’s net profit declined by Rs 10.5 crore compared to the previous year.
Similarly, Bandipur Cable Car and Tourism Company, City Hotel, Oriental Hotel and Taragaon Regency Hotel have also suffered losses.
