Kathmandu. The Airlines Operators Association has said that the airfare will not be increased even though the number of air passengers has increased due to the obstruction of land routes due to floods.

The number of air passengers has increased due to the disruption of the road network due to the flooding in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa. The association has clarified that the airlines companies are selling tickets within the existing limits set by the government, even though the tickets have been sold at cheaper rates in some sectors due to the increase in pressure.

Expressing sorrow over the loss of lives and property due to the floods, NRNA President Pratap Jung Pandey expressed sorrow over the loss of lives and property and wished for speedy recovery of the injured.

The association has said that helicopters of its member airlines are being deployed for search and rescue during the disaster. The helicopters are also being used to transport the security personnel deployed in the rescue to the affected areas, transport health and relief materials and bring the injured to safer places.
