Finance Minister directs Finance Minister to immediately amend Section 18 of BAFIA Act that disqualifies employees

Kathmandu. The Finance Committee meeting held on Friday directed the Finance Minister to immediately amend Section 18 of the Bank and Financial Institutions Act (BAFIA), 2073, which disqualifies directors and employees.

The meeting concluded that the provision of disqualification of directors, employees and other persons due to the warning or admonition given under Section 100920 (a) of the Nepal Rastra Bank Act should be reviewed.TAG_OPEN_div_14

For this, the Finance Minister has been directed to immediately initiate the process to amend Section 1 TAG_OPEN_div_12 8 of the BAFIA Act, 2073.

TAG_OPEN_div_10 Meanwhile, clause-wise discussion on the bill related to the amendment of the Nepal Rastra Bank Act has also been completed. The report of the bill will be discussed in the next meeting of the committee. After the passage of the report, the process of presenting the bill in the House of Representatives will begin.

The committee has also made a provision in the bill that the government of Nepal can give instructions to the Nepal Rastra Bank. Earlier, this provision was removed in the bill.
