{{TAG_OPEN_p_11}Kathmandu. The Nepal Telecommunication Authority (NTA) has written to United Telecom Limited (UTL), which was terminated after failing to renew its license, to clear all the dues.

The license of the company was automatically terminated as per the prevailing telecommunication law after UTL failed to renew the license by September 19.TAG_OPEN_p_10

According to Min Prasad Aryal, director and spokesperson of NEA, a meeting of the NEA Board of Directors held on September 24 has decided to recover the revenue, additional fees and other liabilities due from UTL as government dues. According to the same decision, a letter has been sent to the company to pay the dues.TAG_OPEN_p_9

The Authority has directed UTL to pay a total of Rs 8 billion 5 million 2 TAG_OPEN_p_8 2 lakh 57 thousand 15 76 under various headings, including frequency fees, royalty, rural telecommunication development fund and additional fees to be paid to the Government of Nepal and Nepal Telecommunication Authority till August 2083.

The Authority has decided to recover the remaining liabilities under Rule 5 of the Telecommunication Service Provider Asset Management Rules, 2079 as per Rule 19.TAG_OPEN_p_7

Meanwhile, the authority has also decided to write to the bodies concerned to freeze the bank accounts and movable and immovable properties operating in the name of UTL after the license was revoked.TAG_OPEN_p_6

With this move of the authority, the pressure from the government bodies has increased on UTL, which has been in the dispute for a long time.
