Gorkha. The flood of the Budhigandaki River that flows through Chumnubri Rural Municipality has swept away 35 houses in Paiyu and Bagar villages. Vice-chairperson of Chumnubri Rural Municipality, Laxmi Gurung, said that Dobhan, Ghattekhola, Jagat and Salleri villages have been badly damaged.
He said that there was a lot of damage due to the flood in the market of Chumnubri Rural Municipality-3. The locals had fled to safer places after the flood entered the village at 4 am today.
District Police Office, Gorkha’s Police Inspector Aakash Kandel said the residents of Khorlabensi, Machhakhola, Soti, Arkhet and Arughat villages of Sirdibas and Dharche rural municipalities have been urged to move to safer zones.
No human casualties have been reported so far and details of the damage are yet to be ascertained.
