Kathmandu. The Flood Forecasting Division has estimated that the river was blocked due to landslides.

Rajan Bhattarai, spokesperson for the Centre for Hydrology and Water Resources Research under the Water and Energy Commission’s secretariat, said that the area received only sporadic rainfall in the last 24 hours. “Based on preliminary information and satellite imagery, it has been speculated that the floods might have occurred due to landslides blocking the river in the upper river area,” he said.TAG_OPEN_div_5
