Kathmandu. One person has been seriously injured in the shooting.

A person was injured in a shooting near a water tank at Gadhawa Tole of Gaur Municipality-4 in Rautahat district, according to police.

Rakesh Yadav, 28, of the same locality, sustained injuries on his right leg and other parts of his body after being hit by bullet shrapnel at around 9.15 pm last night. He has been referred to Nepal Mediciti Bayodha Hospital in Birgunj for further treatment after general treatment at the Provincial Hospital Gaur. His condition is said to be critical.

Yadav sustained six bullet wounds, including three on his back, one on his right arm and two on both legs. Three empty shells of a 7.62 mm pistol were found at the scene.

The District Police Office, Rautahat, is investigating into the incident.
