Sourya Airlines plane crash report made public

Kathmandu. The Accident Investigation Commission formed to investigate the crashed 9N-AME-CRJ 200 Kalsai aircraft of Sourya Airlines has submitted its final report. Commission Chairman Ratish Chandra Lal Samun handed over the committee’s final report to Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Badri Prasad Pandey at a programme held at the Ministry today.

Receiving the report, Minister Pandey said that the report has come without any delay and expressed commitment to implement it. Soon after the commission submitted its report, the ministry made its report public through its website.

Eighteen people were killed when a Sourya Airlines plane en route to Pokhara from Tribhuvan International Airport crashed near the runway on July 14.

Pilot Manish Shakya survived the crash. The government had formed a commission of inquiry headed by former Director General of Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) Ratish Chandra Lal Suman.
