Trump imposes new tariffs in 92 countries, including India, how much in which country?

Kathmandu. US President Donald Trump has imposed new tariffs on 92 countries, including India.

The new tax will come into effect a week later (August 7). Trump has imposed a 25 per cent tax on India, 19 per cent on Pakistan and 35 per cent on Canada. So far, the US imposes a 10 per cent basic tax on India. India’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry has said that it will take all necessary steps to protect the national interest. This tax can affect sectors like steel, aluminium, automobile, textiles, electronics and jewelry.

Earlier on April 2, Trump announced that he would impose tariffs on countries around the world. But it was later postponed for 90 days. After this, the Trump administration had set a target of making 90 agreements in 90 days. So far, agreements have been signed with only seven countries. Trump has imposed the highest tariffs of 40 percent or more in Laos, Myanmar, Syria and other countries.

Eu goods are not directly taxed at 15 per cent. If the existing charge on a product is 10 percent, then 5 percent will be added. If the product is already paying 15 per cent or more, no tax will be raised.

Trump signed the deal with Britain on May 8. In which taxes were reduced on British auto, steel and aluminum. Generally, 10 percent tax will be imposed. The UK, which has been exempted from 50 per cent steel and aluminium duties, will now face a 25 per cent tax.

Britain had promised to reduce tariffs on American olive oil, wine and sports equipment. Trump announced the deal with Japan on July 22. Japanese goods will be taxed at 15 percent. Japan was previously taxed at 25 per cent.

Japan promised to invest $550 billion in the U.S. and open its market for U.S. cars and rice. The tax is a relief for Japanese carmakers like Toyota and Honda, which were earlier facing a 25 per cent tax. The U.S. and the European Union signed a preliminary trade deal on July 27. Under the agreement, the U.S. will impose a base duty of 15 percent on most goods coming from the EU. These include cars, medicines and electronic goods.

Trump announced the deal during a meeting with EU President Ursula von der Leyen in Scotland. Accordingly, the EU will buy $750 billion worth of energy from the US in the next three years.

With this, the EU will invest $ 600 billion or Rs 51 lakh crore in the US. This investment will be in america’s pharmaceutical, auto and defense sectors. In addition, negotiations between the US and the EU on 30 percent of goods are still pending. The European Union is the world’s third largest economy. This includes 27 countries in Europe. About 3 per day between the U.S. and the European Union. There is a trade of $ 5 billion.

The US has also signed trade deals with South Korea, Indonesia, Vietnam and the Philippines. On July 30, Trump reduced tariffs on South Korean goods from 25 percent to 15 percent. In return, South Korea will buy $100 billion worth of energy from the U.S. and invest $350 billion. On July 15, Trump imposed a 19 percent tax on Indonesia. More than 99 percent of American goods will go to Indonesia without taxes. Trump has imposed a 19 percent tax on the Philippines and a 20 percent tax on Vietnam.
