Kathmandu. Ambassador of The Republic of Korea to Nepal, Park Theyong, has said that many Nepali youths who have acquired entrepreneurial skills and have experience of employment in Korea have been able to return home and do good business.
Concluding the K-Food (Korean Cuisine) Entrepreneurship Training Program organized in coordination with KOICA Nepal and HRD Korea with the financial support of the Government of the Republic of Korea, he said that the goal is to make the trainees participating in this training entrepreneurs in Nepal itself.
Ambassador Park shared the inspiring stories of 50 successful entrepreneurs included in the book ‘You Can Also Become a Boss’ based on korea experience published by the Embassy a few months ago.
Koica Nepal Chief Khong Muhan said that the focus has been on making the young generation employed in Korea entrepreneurs at home through various training trainings through the ‘K-Hami Project’ and pledged to join hands with Nepal for sustainable sustainable development.
On the occasion, Joint-Secretary at the Ministry of Labour, Krishna Prasad Sapkota, expressed the belief that many people would be benefited through the entrepreneurship and rehabilitation programme launched from 2022 with the support of the Korean government.
A total of 15 trainees are participating in the training programme aimed at establishing a Korean restaurant in Nepal. During the eight-day training, food experts from Korea taught them the skills of making various Korean dishes.
The Government of Korea has said that it will expand a sustainable ‘startup ecosystem’ through various support targeting youth with employment experience in Korea. It is believed that employment generation through startups will further support Nepal’s economy.
