Kathmandu. Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has directed the subordinate employees to work in the interest of the nation and the convenience of the common people.
Signing a performance agreement with home secretary and organization chiefs, division and departmental chiefs for the fiscal year 2082/83 BS at the ministry today, he said although significant work has been done to control drugs, road accidents, suicides and cyber crime, it would take time to get results.
“Drugs, road accidents, cyber crime and suicide are the new challenges in the current situation. Special work has been done and it will take some time for the results to come,” he said. Stating that work was underway to assess the detailed damage caused by the earthquake and its impact in western Nepal, he directed to carry out the reconstruction works within the current fiscal year.
Home Minister Lekhak congratulated and thanked the Ministry of Home Affairs for making 88 percent progress in the milestone set in the last fiscal year. “What more new works can be done according to the current needs, prepare policies and plans and move ahead,” he said, adding, “We have to work within limited resources, manpower and budget.” Stating that performance is a collective work÷ he stressed the need to collectively take responsibility.
Stating that the bill related to Nepal Police and Armed Police Force has been forwarded while coming under the leadership of the Ministry, Home Minister Lekhak said that some technical complications have been stalled in the House of Representatives. “Take forward the process of registering the law÷ bills in the pipeline in the House of Representatives within this month,” he said, adding, “Policy and legal reforms of the ministry are our priority. ’
