Kathmandu. The Indian government has provided some vehicles, horses and dogs to the Nepal Army for investigation of post-disaster incidents.
Indian Foreign Secretary Bikram Misri, who is on a two-day visit to Nepal, handed over the assistance at a function held at the Army Headquarters here today. Six vehicles, five horses and two dogs of quality have been received from India to help in finding result-oriented results in the search and investigation after the incidents of explosions and disasters.
Earlier, Chief of Army Staff Ashok Raj Sigdel and Foreign Secretary Egypt had a courtesy call at the Army Headquarters. During the meeting, matters related to cooperation, relations and mutual interest between the two countries were discussed, according to the Directorate of Military Public Relations and Information.
Nepal and India enjoy warm and close relations not only at the political level but also at the military and people’s level. Nepal and India have a unique tradition of conferring honorary army chiefs to each other’s army chiefs. Nepal and India have been conducting a large number of military training and training programs annually in each other’s countries for a long time.
Due to the same language, religion and culture and the old friendly and open border, the easy movement between Nepal and India to each other’s countries has made the friendship close at the people’s level. Indian Ambassador to Nepal Navin Srivastava and senior officials of the Nepal Army were present on the occasion.
