State-of-the-art room at the airport’s domestic terminal

Kathmandu. Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) is all set to provide modern services to distinguished persons at the domestic terminal building. Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Badri Prasad Pandey inaugurated the newly constructed special room at the domestic terminal building on Monday.

On the occasion, Minister Pandey expressed the belief that with the construction of the special room, the crowd of the airport would be controlled and service delivery would be easier. He said that a separate movement room has been arranged for political and administrative persons keeping in mind the crowd management as well as security of the airport.

According to Airport General Manager Hansraj Pandey, the new special room brought into operation in place of the existing special room, which is challenging from the point of view of air safety, will make the reception and departure of the distinguished officials more dignified, systematic and convenient with qualitative improvement in all three aspects of service, convenience and safety.

General Manager Pandey expressed the belief that the movement of distinguished officials designated by the Government of Nepal would be more dignified, systematic and easy through the special cell with new structure and safe environment. He expressed commitment to strengthen the service delivery of the airport as per international standards in the coming days.

The new special cell has been brought into operation keeping in view the security challenges seen in the existing room. The airport hopes that this will bring qualitative improvement in service, facilities and management. High officials of the Ministry, airport management representatives and representatives of security agencies were present on the occasion.
