Baglung. Tourists are facing problems due to the poor condition of the road leading to Dhorpatan, nepal’s only hunting reserve. The Saljhandi-Dhorpatan road track, which is a national priority project, has not been upgraded even after 10 years of its opening. Although the road from Burtiwang to Bobang, the gateway to Dhorpatan, is easy, it is very difficult on top of it.
Due to the narrow roads, it is difficult for tourists’ vehicles to reach Dhorpatan. During this time, most of the tourists come on motorcycles and jeeps. Vehicles used by tourists get damaged in the middle of the road. The rain has piled up mud and stones on the road.
Dhorpatan road is connected from Saljhandi of Rupandehi to Arghakhanchi. Khim Bahadur Gharti Magar, ward chair of Dhorpatan municipality-9, said that the road is narrow and slippery.
“Thousands of people and visitors of this area have suffered due to this road, if the construction company had given the work on time, it would have been completed by now. ’
Toofan Sapkota, who had come to Visit Dhorpatan from Nawalpur, complained that he had been stranded for two days due to the breakdown of the vehicle on the road below Phalleghar. He said that he had come to visit dhorpatan on social media after seeing adorable pictures and videos.
“Dhorpatan is so beautiful, but the condition of the road coming here is very news, we had come to see the beauty here, we would not have come if we had known that there is such a road,” he said.
The road track was opened in Baglung section in 2071 BS. It is 61 kilometers from Gangre to Dhorpatan. Saljhandi to Dhorpatan is 197 kilometers long. The contract was signed four years ago to upgrade the road connecting Badigad rural municipality-10, Gangre, Nisikhola rural municipality-7, Rajkut and ward no. 1 Devisthan to Dhorpatan. Work has not been done so far.
