PM Oli meets Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss educational, cultural, tourism and information technology

Tianjin. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, who is in Tianjin, China for the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Plus Summit, met Russian President Vladimir Putin today.

The two leaders held discussions at hotel Ritz Carlton in Tianjin for some time in the presence of media persons at the beginning of the meeting. After that, they had a one-on-one discussion for about half an hour. At the end of the discussion, President Putin met the members of the delegation.

Recalling that bilateral relations between Nepal and Russia were established from June 5 to July 9, 1956 when the then Soviet Union was there, President Putin said that there was no problem in the relations between Nepal and Russia.

Prime Minister Oli thanked President Putin for giving time to Nepal amid his busy schedule and urged him to further expand bilateral relations. Stating that those who returned home after studying in Russia are serving in various sectors of Nepal including the medical sector, he appreciated the quality of education condition of Russia.

They exchanged high-level visits and discussed ways to enhance cooperation in educational, cultural, tourism, information technology and investment sectors. Earlier in the day, Pm Oli and Chinese President Xi Jinping held meetings with heads of state and government of various countries.
