Washington. US President Donald Trump has listed 23 countries as major transit or illicit drug producing countries in his House presidential determination.

These countries include China, Afghanistan, India and Pakistan. President Donald Trump has vowed to defeat the threat posed by the illicit drug trade in the United States.

Other countries on the list include the Bahamas, Belize, Bolivia, Myanmar, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Laos, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru and Venezuela.

“Afghanistan, Bolivia, Myanmar, Colombia and Venezuela have failed to meet their obligations under the Convention on the Prevention of Alcoholism over the past 12 months, and have failed to take corrective measures,” the statement said.

“A country’s presence on this list is not necessarily reflective of that country’s counternarcotics efforts or its level of cooperation with the United States,” the decision said.

Geographical, commercial and economic reasons make it easier to produce or transit drugs or precursor chemicals, even if that country has strict drug control and law enforcement. ’

Earlier, India’s Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) along with other agencies had busted a drug smuggling syndicate spread across four continents. The syndicate was smuggling drugs using encrypted digital platforms, drop shipping models and cryptocurrency.

The cartel was busted during a routine vehicle check near Bengali Bazaar in New Delhi. It exposed the criminal network that spans India, the US, Australia and Europe. It also demonstrates NCB’s ability to take coordinated action against illegal pharma networks internationally.

“Thank you to the NCB and Indian authorities for helping to protect Americans from illicit drugs and save lives,” the US Embassy in India said in a statement.
