Mountains. Nearly a decade after the implementation of federalism, Mahasheela Rural Municipality has started its service from its own building. The service which was operated from the office of Balakot VDC and Ward No. 3 since its establishment has been started from its own building from this week.
Chief Administrative Officer of Mahasheela-3, Devendra Pandey, said that the service has started from a well-equipped building constructed at Kafaldanda on the border of Mahashila-3 and Ward No. 5. The building has been constructed at a cost of around five crore rupees. He said that all the branches of the municipality have been operated from the building with thirty rooms. Administrative Officer Pandey said that it has been easier for both citizens and employees to provide service from a single building in an integrated manner to all wards.
Rural municipality chair Ishwori Prasad Bhusal informed that although the service has resumed, the building is yet to be handed over. However, all the six ward offices of Mahashila, the smallest municipality in the district, have been constructed. With the physical infrastructure of the rural municipality already ready, emphasis has been laid on roads and education. The construction of a 10-bed basic hospital has reached the final stage. Bhusal said that the local government has given priority to quality road and education to stop the increasing migration.
