Myagdi. A total of 24 mountaineers have taken permission to climb Mt Dhaulagiri in Myagdi in the current autumn of 2025. The seventh highest mountain in the world (8,167 meters) is located in Dhaulagiri rural municipality-4 of Myagdi district.

According to the Department of Tourism, those who have taken permission to climb Dhawalagiri have received Rs 5 million 71 thousand as a fee. Foreigners who want to climb mountains up to eight thousand meters other than Mount Everest have to pay a bid of nine hundred dollars per climber.

For other small mountains, the minimum fee is Rs 125 to maximum Rs 400. A total of 374 mountaineers have taken permission to climb Mt Manaslu (8,163 metres) in Gorkha district, according to data released by the Department recently.

Mountain Manaslu is the choice of climbers of autumn. Dhaulagiri is in the second position in the number of people taking permission to climb the mountain. Hari Prasad Tilija, a hotel entrepreneur of Dhawalagiri-4, who is also a hotel entrepreneur at the Italian base camp, said climbers, Sherpas, guides, porters and helpers have started reaching the base camp. This time, the expedition team has headed towards the base camp from Marfa of Mustang via Yakkharka. The trekking route leading to Mudi Bagar of Dhaulagiri rural municipality is bad, winding and far-flung.

Last spring, revenue of Rs 3.691 million was collected for taking permission from 15 expedition groups of two groups. In autumn 2024, a group of 14 climbers had obtained permission to climb them, but five were killed in an avalanche.

The weather changes from time to time becomes a challenge for climbing Dhaulagiri. Compared to other mountains, Dhaulagiri is considered risky and adventurous. On May 13, 1960, Kurt Dimberger of Austria had successfully climbed Mt Dhaulagiri for the first time. Along with Dimberger, Peter Diener, Ernst Forer, Albin Selbert, Nima Dorz and Nawang Dorge had reached the summit of Dhaulagiri for the first time.
