Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has removed the weighted average calculation method of the last 15 minutes from today following protests by the share investors.
With this, the index will now be calculated on the basis of the final value of the company. The system, which was implemented from March 7 following opposition from investors, has been scrapped following protests from some investors.
The Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) has sent a letter to NEPSE to suspend this method. A meeting of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) held on Saturday had decided to suspend the practice.
“As per the directive received pursuant to sub-section (1) of Section 87 of the Securities Related Securities Act, 2063 through the letter dated 2082-6-4, the weighted average price of the price maintained in the session referred to in Sub-rule (1) Clause (b) of the Securities Trading Operation Bye-laws (4th Amendment) 2081 shall be deemed to be the final transaction price. “If there is no transaction during this period, the latest transaction value will be considered as the final value,” the NEPSE said in a notice issued by the NEPSE.
