In Nepal, the number of tourist arrivals has drastically decreased in the main season. A total of 78,711 foreign tourists visited Nepal via air route in September this year.

This is 18.3 percent less than the previous September. According to the Nepal Tourism Board, 96,302 tourists visited Nepal in September. The number of tourists visiting Nepal has decreased due to the agitation by Jenji on September 23 and 24.

Due to the agitation, many tourists coming to Nepal had canceled their hotel bookings. Several hotels were vandalised and set on fire during the protests. Entrepreneurs argue that the number of tourists coming will decrease due to the fire in the hotels where tourists are staying. The number of tourists coming to Nepal from Australia and New Zealand has increased. According to the board, the number of tourists coming from other countries has decreased.

According to NTB, 19.8 percent of tourists visiting Nepal are from India. Bangladesh 3.8 percent, Bhutan 1.1 percent and Sri Lanka 5.9 percent.
