Kathmandu. A team of Nepal Army (NA) has rescued 15 tourists, including three foreign nationals, stranded at Batasedanda of Mustang district. A team of Nepal Army (NA) on Friday rescued 15 tourists, including three foreigners, who were stranded in snowfall in Hidden Valley area of Mustang.
A joint rescue team of Nepal Army, Armed Police Force, Nepal Police and non-military guides found them from Batasedanda at an altitude of around 4,900 meters. The tourists travelling along the Dhawalagiri circuit trekking route from Myagdi to Mustang were stranded due to continuous snowfall since October 11.
On October 12, a team deputed from the Nepal Army’s High Shikhar School and Indra Bux battalion in Mustang had set up a base camp at Yakkharka and started rescue operations. After three days of relentless efforts, the rescue team found them safe on Friday morning and brought them to Yak Kharka, the army said. The army said that work is underway to bring all the tourists to Jomsom and their health condition is normal.
