Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The General Manager of Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) will be elected through open competition.
A committee has been formed under the coordination of Tourism Secretary Hari Prasad Mainali to select eligible candidates from open competition and recommend for the same.
Prime Minister Sushila Karki today decided to form a committee in her capacity as a departmental minister.
Captain Kul Bahadur Limbu has been appointed as an expert member of the committee.
The chief and joint secretary of the Planning and Administration Division of the Ministry will work as the member-secretary.
The committee has to select eligible candidates from open competition within a month and recommend them.
Janak Raj Kalakheti, the senior-most employee of the corporation, will work as the acting general manager until a new general manager is appointed through open competition.
Spokesperson at the Ministry, Ram Krishna Lamichhane, said that Bikram Rai will continue to work as the chairman of the board of directors until further arrangements.
