Kathmandu. The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has started the operation of 132 KV transmission line for the first time in Karnali Province. Hitendra Dev Shakya, executive director of NEA, expressed his confidence that the operation of Kohalpur-Surkhet-Dailekh 132 KV Kohalpur-Surkhet 132 KV Transmission line would help boost economy of Province 132 kV with the operation of Kohalpur-Surkhet-Dailekh Transmission Line project.
He said that the problem of overload, power outage and low voltage would improve significantly after supplying electricity to Karnali Province from the 33 KV transmission line in the past. According to him, with the operation of the project, big industries will start in Karnali and they can spend most of the money on power industries.
Executive Director Shakya visited the project site in the third week of December and directed the contractor company to carry out the work in order to charge the project as soon as possible. Rabi Kumar Chaudhary, chief of the project, said that the construction of the 52-kilometer Kolpur-Surkhet section has been completed soon. He further informed that the construction of Surkhet-Dailekh section of the second section would be expedited.
