Kathmandu. Pokhara—More than 90 percent of the hotel capacity in Pokhara’s Lakeside area is occupied due to the number of tourists coming to celebrate Nepali New Year.

According to Laxman Subedi, president of Hotel Association Pokhara Nepal, the hotel is full of tourists coming to Pokhara from different parts of the country to celebrate Nepali New Year.

According to him, the 21st edition of the Phewa New Year Festival being organized by the Association on the occasion of the Nepali New Year has also increased the number of tourists in Pokhara.

Tourism entrepreneurs said that Pokhara has been declared the tourism capital due to nature, culture and adventurous tourism.

Subedi said that there are a total of 1,200 hotels in Pokhara and 40,000 tourists can be accommodated every day.
