Chitwan. The District Traffic Office has requested the authorities to take back the documents including driving license seized in course of security check.
The District Traffic Police Office has urged the general public to take back 8,982 documents from the District Traffic Police Office with the implementation of traffic rule violation record system.
Chief of the Traffic Police Office, Police Inspector Anil Thapa, said that the documents were collected after the traffic police started keeping the ‘Traffic Violation Record System’ in 2080 BS. Drivers and owners who have received 24-hour permits in course of the security checks carried out on different dates and places but have not submitted the fines within the stipulated time have been asked to collect the documents within 10 days. According to him, the office has original documents like driving license, blue book and route permit.
Although some of them were destroyed in the course of the fire, they have been requested to pay the revenue as they can be recommended to make new ones for such documents.
The office has seized 2,248 such documents in the current fiscal year alone. He said that if the documents are not returned within 10 days, they will be suspended for a month as per Section 164 (5) of the Motor Vehicles and Transport Management Act, 2049.
