Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) calls solar power producers to enter into PPA

Kathmandu. The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has urged the people to contact the solar power project to be constructed with the investment of the local government for power purchase agreement.
The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) is going to sign a power purchase agreement for solar power projects with a capacity of up to 1 MW to be constructed with at least 51 percent partnership of the local level. The NEA had decided to sign the power purchase agreement of the solar power project in the meeting held on November 3, 2002.TAG_OPEN_div_18
The price of solar power projects to be constructed with the investment of the local level has been fixed at Rs 4.TAG_OPEN_div_16 99 per unit. It has already been decided to complete the purchase and sale agreement of electricity generated from such projects by the end of the current fiscal year.
According to the decision of the NEA on April 15, it has been requested to submit the application with necessary documents by the end of this month. The project will be connected to the NEA’s 33÷11 KV grid or distribution substation. If the promoter requests, it will be connected to the NEA’s 11 KV distribution line with necessary arrangements.TAG_OPEN_div_14
The NEA will have to submit an application for the power purchase agreement, a company registration certificate, an updated share statement of at least 51 percent of the shares of the local level, the details of the directors. The company will have to submit the memorandum of association, the company’s regulations, the tax payment certificate, the license for the existing electricity survey, the permanent account number, the certificate of registration, the lease agreement or occupancy of the land to be constructed in the project or the certificate of ownership in the name of the company.
Similarly, the NEA has to submit a letter of authorization of the authorized person signing on behalf of the company and details of the construction schedule of the project to sign the draft power purchase agreement and power purchase and sale agreement.TAG_OPEN_div_10
