Kathmandu. The government has again increased the public transport fares. The Department of Transport Management (DoTM) has hiked public transport fares following the hike in fuel prices.

According to the department, the fare has been increased in the inter-state public transport. According to the department, the increased fare will come into effect from Wednesday. The government has increased the inter-province passenger transport fare by 5 percent each.

Earlier, the fare was increased on April 25. The Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport had given its consent to increase the fare on April 12. Accordingly, the fare of public vehicles has been increased, according to the department.
