Myagdi. MYAGDI: The Beni-Jomsom-Korala road section linking Mustang to the national highway has been obstructed since this morning due to landslides occurred at Mahabhir of Annapurna rural municipality-7 in Myagdi district.

The landslide has cut off the 76-km Beni-Jomsom road section. Vehicles en route from Beni to Mustang and Jomsom to Beni have been stranded due to the road obstruction.

Locals as well as tourists visiting Mustang and visiting Muktinath have been affected today. Information Officer at the District Police Office, Sagar Timilsina, said efforts were underway to resume the obstructed road by mobilizing the equipment of the Department of Roads.

The landslide falls from a cliff some 500 meters above the road in Mahabhir. Landslides that occur with mud even during normal rainfall have blocked the road and increased the risk of road accidents at other times.
