Kathmandu. The Supreme Court (SC) has ordered the release of Jyoti Pandey, the chief executive officer (CEO) of Nepal Investment Mega Bank.
A division bench of Justices Saranga Subedi and Shanti Singh Thapa issued the order to release Pandey. The apex court issued the order in response to a writ petition filed by Pandey’s wife Niru Dahal.
On Thursday, a bench of Justice Aziz Muslim heard the petition and issued a show cause order. The Supreme Court had summoned both the parties for discussion today to decide whether to issue an interim order or not.
Pandey was arrested by the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police on the charge of cheating and criminal breach of trust in the auction of smart telecom equipment.
