Persa. Birgunj Customs Office has collected Rs 199.40 billion in revenue in the first 10 months of the current fiscal year.
The Department of Customs has set a target of collecting Rs 223.18 billion revenue for the office during the period, but it collected 89.35 per cent of the target.
Similarly, Information Officer at the Customs Office Udaya Singh Bista said that the revenue collection in the current fiscal year was satisfactory. According to him, import of petroleum products, automobiles and their spare parts are major sources of revenue in the country.
The Department of Customs had set the target of collecting Rs 273.39 billion revenue in the fiscal year. The office expects that additional revenue will be collected as there are still two months left for the current fiscal year.
The office collected Rs 18.44 billion in the first half of the current fiscal year, Rs 20.73 billion in August, Rs 19.9 billion in September, Rs 17.33 billion in October and Rs 20.80 billion in November.
Similarly, the collection collected Rs 20.20 billion in January, Rs 18.92 billion in January, Rs 19.34 billion in February and Rs 22.82 billion in March. Similarly, Rs 21.74 billion revenue was collected in April, said Information Officer Bista.
