Kathmandu. Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Biraj Bhakta Shrestha on Sunday inspected the Load Dispatch Centre (DH) of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) at Syuchatar.
Minister Shrestha today inspected the Load Dispatch Centre at Nepal Electricity Authority’s Electricity System and Operation Department at Syuchatar.
During the inspection, Minister Shrestha took stock of the operation of the country’s overall electricity system, management of power supply to the grid and the current status of inter-country power purchase and sale with neighbouring countries.
On the occasion, LDC chief Chandan Ghosh apprised Minister Shrestha about the balance of demand and supply of electricity from Nepal, technical challenges in Nepal’s electricity system and the technical aspects of power import and export with India.
After the inspection, Minister Shrestha said that strengthening of energy system is inevitable for energy security and reliable power supply. He directed the officials concerned to take economic benefits by increasing the domestic consumption and to efficiently manage the demand for electricity during the winter season.
Minister Shrestha said that the Ministry would provide necessary support to minimize the possible technical risk by making the electricity system more modern and technology-friendly.
