Kathmandu. Karnali Province has decided to construct hydropower projects up to 20 megawatts on its own under public-private partnership (PPP) mode in collaboration with the federal government.

Chief Minister of Karnali Province Yagya Raj Joshi said that the 20-megawatt hydropower project to be constructed under the ‘Karnali Water, People’s Investment’ campaign would be constructed with the share of the people of Karnali.

The ongoing Jagdulla-A hydropower project in Dolpa will be constructed with the investment of the provincial government. The policy and programmes recently unveiled by the Karnali Province government have mentioned about expanding electricity through solar, wind power, micro and small hydropower and mini-grid.
