Kathmandu. Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle has appealed to the private sector to openly praise the budget brought by the government.
Minister Dr. Yubaraj Khatiwada was speaking at the budget for the fiscal year 2083/084 organized by the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) here today. Khatiwada has made this appeal.
He reiterated that the private sector should openly appreciate the budget. “If you are not enthusiastic about the budget brought for you, then we will also be a little disappointed,” Minister Dr. Khatiwada said. Wagle said, “But I am happy in my heart, if you think what to say when you praise openly, please praise me once.” Please accept it. Please carry this agenda. Don’t carry a hesitation. Hesitation spoils. ”
On the occasion, he said that the private sector would continue to cooperate as it was the charioteer of the government. He also claimed that Minister Wagle has brought this budget for the private sector. Finance Minister Dr. According to him, Wagle has increased the scope of tax without imposing burden from the budget of the coming fiscal year. According to him, the government has set a target of collecting Rs 15.80 trillion in revenue.
Minister Wagle said that the government was preparing to meet the target of revenue from its resource in the coming fiscal year. Recalling that the budget has prepared to borrow Rs 260 billion from foreign and Rs 410 billion for internal borrowing, he said that there is little possibility of getting more than Rs 8 to 10 billion in grants.
Minister Wagle said that although preparations were underway to reduce the excise duty of more than Rs 1300 by half through the budget of the coming fiscal year, it was not technically possible at present. He said that there are anomalies in the name of excise duty and it will be corrected. Recalling that this is the government that will change the generation, he has been the Prime Minister for 36 years, he said, adding that reforms have been initiated in all the areas.
He said that the policy of clearing the old stalled arrears as there was no possibility of recovering the arrears of many years. The minister said that industries and businesses can be started as per the tax determined in the beginning.
He informed that the government has started a big push in infrastructure. He said that preparations are being made to forward projects like roads, other infrastructures and road bridges.
NRNA Bond and Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) will issue clean bonds. He claimed that if AI is to be implemented properly, then there is no need to sell electricity to India and Bangladesh by pulling a stick, but consumption will increase in Nepal itself.
Minister Wagle also informed that clean people will now be brought to the regulatory body. He also claimed that the people who come to the regulator will not be in anyone’s pocket and the political parties will not make money from it. He also claimed that the license raj will be abolished.
He said that if any work has been exempted due to human error, it can be looked into by the cabinet if it is brought by the private sector.
